Utility Staff (Restaurant)

Job Title: Utilities Staff - Restaurant

Department: Food & Beverage
Reports to: Main Dining Room Manager/ Mangos Manager
 

Position Description Summary

Ensures that all Pacific Club members and guests receive proper, attentive, courteous, and professional service at the Club to include greeting tables with water and bread, refilling beverages, clearing and resetting tables, and communicating pertinent information to the kitchen. Must follow all club safety and sanitation guidelines.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

Pre-shift:

  • Prepare all water glasses, carafes
  • Prepare bread service for the night
  • Restock wait station with all necessary supplies from the storage room
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and service areas
  • Set up the floor once all pre-shift duties are completed

During shift:

  • Pour water and bring bread to tables as guests arrive
  • Assist wait staff by servicing food to members/guests as needed; food should not be left on the tray stand unattended. (Make sure there is communication with wait staff)
  • Clear plates after each course, refill water
  • Restock bus station as needed
  • Assist in cleaning banquet rooms as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dining Room Manager or Captain

Closing duties:

  • Clean service stations
  • Clean and restock trays
  • Assist in the resetting of tables
  • Adherence to scheduled shifts and attendance at all service staff meetings.
  • Work well as a team member with the entire club staff.
  • Operate under all guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as set forth by The Pacific Club.
  • Other duties as required.
     

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to carry trays of food
  • Standing on feet for up to 8 hours

Job Title: Cook

Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Executive Chef & Sous Chef

Responsibilities: Perform food preparation tasks on a timely basis under the supervision of the Sous Chef.

Essential Functions:
Perform routine tasks for Cook/Pantry personnel, short of working a station.
• Serve food items on the buffet line.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down the buffet line Keep the kitchen clean and in order.
• Ensure quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation.
• Maintain the timing of orders.
• Assist Cook I, II, and Sous Chef in other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to all Pacific Club standards and policies to achieve service excellence.
• Expedite orders promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area.
• Ensure daily inspection of food preparation in the walk-in refrigerator to ensure proper rotation of food items.

Education and Experience: Culinary school training.
• At least four or two (2) years of cooking experience.
• Knowledge of kitchen terminology is required.

Banquet Server

Banquet Server (Breakfast)

Job Summary: A banquet server is needed for breakfast banquet events at the private club downtown for Club members and guests to receive proper, attentive, courteous, and professional service during the Club’s private events. A positive attitude, professionalism, and teamwork are a must. Holidays and weekends are required as business dictates.
Directly reports to the Banquet Captain and/or Banquet Manager.

Job
Duties: 
Assures that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role during emergencies.
• Set up and clean banquet rooms and serve banquets.
• Performs related banquet set-up tasks.
• Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon greeting them.
• Takes beverage orders and serves food in a specified station.
• Pours and refills wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served with and after the meal.
• Clears soiled dishes as needed.
• Cleans all assigned work areas in the kitchen and banquet areas.
• Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
• Assists in closing functions such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for the next function.
• Attends staff meetings including pre-shift sessions.
• Consistently follows all food safety-related requirements.
• Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Banquet Captain.

Housekeeper

Job Title: Housekeeper


Position Description Summary:Reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Facilities Director.
Provides excellent customer service to all members and guests while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Communicates respectfully and clearly with management, staff, members, and guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a high level of personal service extended to members and guests.
  • Uses proper etiquette when greeting members, guests, and employees in person.
  • Ensures the upkeep and cleanliness of the Club and surrounding areas, including furniture and equipment.
  • Observe all areas of the Club to ensure all areas are kept neat, stocked, and in working order; inform the Executive Housekeeper to submit work orders for maintenance as necessary.
  • Report broken items and burned-out lights in all areas (dining rooms, library, etc.).
  • Performing housekeeping throughout the Club, including but not limited to:
    • Empty wastebaskets.
    • Wipes all windows, shelves, walls, tables, chairs, equipment, mirrors, baseboards, door knobs, and light switches as needed.
    • Dust all furniture and fixtures.
    • Vacuums carpet and mops floors.
    • Cleans and maintains locker rooms and lounges.
    • Cleans and sanitizes toilets.
    • Washes tiles, shower walls, and fixtures.
    • Cleans sink and furniture.
    • Ensure lounges and employee locker rooms are fully stocked with amenities.
    • Restock towels, washcloths, soaps, glasses, and other supplies and amenities.
    • Disinfects phones.
    • Reports immediately to Housekeeper Supervisor and Facility Director any hazardous situation, maintenance issue, injuries, illnesses, or other areas of concern.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to assisting other areas in the maintenance department when positions are vacant or personnel are on vacation.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting, pushing pulling, bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Use ladders when required.
  • Job has the potential to expose the employee to human blood or infectious materials.
Education and Training, Qualifications, and Other Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
One year of comparable custodial work preferred.
