Ty specializes in Tennis. He believes that: "Everyone who has been involved in an athletic program needs to participate in some form of personal training. For me, the rule is: you don't use tennis to get fit - you must get fit to play tennis.

Tennis Pro 

   Roberta Russo
Tennis Pro Roberta is from Naples, Italy where her passion for tennis was sparked at very young age. Roberta was chosen to join the Italian Team and previously held a world ranking. Roberta has played in major tournaments such as The Italian Open and The French Open. Roberta earned her certification as a Tennis Coach from The European and International Tennis Federation. Roberta has coached in various academies in Europe, one being the famous Sanchez Casal Academy in Barcelona, Spain. Roberta is the Assistant Tennis Coach at Punahou for the Girls Varsity Tennis Team. Her coaching skills helped to take Punahou all the way to win States in 2017!  Roberta’s students say she makes learning tennis fun!

 Pickleball Instructor

    Kea Gillis
Self-employed Site Construction work for 17 years. Tennis player for 40 years Discovered her passion for Pickleball 5 years ago with friends at the Diamond Head Courts. 2016 & 2017 - 60 plus State Women's Doubles Gold medalist - Qualifier for Nationals 2017 Alabama Nationals Tennis 60 plus Women's Doubles Consolation Winners Kea loves Pickleball and loves to share. She believes there is always something new to learn and work on. Drill, Drill, Drill.

Swimming Instructors


  Emily Bustard, Swimming Instructor
Emily’s father is a member and grew up taking swimming lessons at the Club.
She is a Punahou grad and has recently earned her B. A. in Art History, with Minors in Architecture, Education Studies, and French from Middlebury College.  Emily loves the water and has taught swimming lessons on Oahu and in Vermont for many years. She is also certified lifeguard, CPR trained and her favorite sport is water polo!

Dr. Berman creates tailored sessions based on her client's unique fitness and health goals. She trains clients of all ages and fitness levels, healthy or injured. She personally enjoys practicing Tae Kwon Do and exercising outdoors. Dr. Berman believes that everyone, regardless of age, injury status or fitness level can benefit from an individualized Personal Training Program.
